‘Maanja Velu’ is gearing-up for a January release and is made with a high budget and heavy casting. Dhanshika of ‘Peranmai’ fame is playing the female lead while Vijayakumar, Anu Haasan, Chandrasekar, Santhanam, 'Ganja' Karuppu, 'Nizhalgal' Ravi and Thyagu are appearing in supporting roles. Apart from the above, ‘Maanja Velu’ will have Ilaya Thilagam Prabhu and Navarasa Nayagan Karthik in important roles.

The team of ‘Maanja Velu’ has moved from their Pondicherry schedule to Trichy of late. We hear that 80% of the film’s shoot is over with few stunt scenes shot in Trichy. Stunt master Kanal Kannan has given 45 days of his schedule for ‘Maanja Velu’ to shoot it with unique style, say the sources.

We saw Arun Vijay performing risky stunt sequences in his previous hit ‘Malai Malai’ and same way we will have him jumping out straight from a burning bus into a river. The title song of the film was shot in Pondicherry schedule with 80 junior artists.
